The celebrating month took place from March 31 to April 30, which would focus on disseminate, advocate, raise awareness on intellectual property. Especially inspection and examination of the implementation of legal regulations on intellectual property would be carried out and strengthen in May and following months.
Speeches delivered by intellectual property protection and enforcing agencies includes those from the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, Ministry Inspectorate (Ministry of Science and Technology); the Office of Copyrights and Authors, Ministry Inspectorate (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) stately clearly activities of intellectual property enforcement over the past time as regularly organizing dissemination, advocacy of legal regulations on intellectual property to raise awareness of the public as well as improving the consciousness of self-protection for intellectual property rights of entities; strengthening training and education for focal points and forces who enforce intellectual property rights, initially establishing database to form and share information among enforces who carry out inspections, examinations, handling violations of intellectual property rights in an effective manner.
Mr. Roland Chan, Senior director in charge of the Compliance Program, Asia and Pacific region of the Software Union, highly appreciated Vietnam’s remarkable efforts and results in enforcing intellect property rights, especially in software field. The implementation of intellectual property right enforcement of Vietnam is carried out synchronously from the Center level to local level, which create the equal business environment and create trust for foreign investors.
