Welcoming Mr. Thomas Countryman to pay a visit to Viet Nam and work with MOST, Deputy Minister Trần Việt Thanh emphasized achieved results on S&T cooperation between Viet Nam and the US over the past time, especially in the atomic energy field. The Deputy Minister also affirmed Viet Nam’s opinion on non-proliferation of nuclear weapon and use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.
Mr. Thomas Countryman expressed his thanks to the Deputy Minister for spending his time to meet the delegation and said the US, through its Department of Energy, would be willing to support Viet Nam to improving its technical capacities and development of human resources in the atomic energy. This is the bridge between the two countries for developing bilateral relationship.
Deputy Minister Trần Việt Thanh wish Mr. Thomas Countryman a successful visit, contributing to promoting cooperative relation between the two countries over the coming time.
